“My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat.” – Mark 8:2
Jesus challenges us today with His compassion. The end of the third day with the crowd, everyone is weary, yet Jesus takes another step to minister to them. He sees their need; he is concerned that, perhaps, they will collapse on the way home. The disciples balk at the idea of trying to feed such a massive crowd. Jesus’ response?
Give what you have; let God do the rest.
It’s all too human to feel discouraged when not all the pieces to the puzzle are present. Yet, even then, Jesus challenges us to do what we can. It is a call to greater trust in God, and put ourselves out there with what we have.
May God Bless you.
